| We spoke to Jay Dunlap, from the City of Boulder, to get some information for homeowners planning a home renovation or remodeling project. Jay said that in Boulder, the International Energy Code is in effect, which will determine the type and amount of insulation you have in your home. Also, combined residential and commercial buildings are required to have adequate parking. Another thing Jay said was that Boulder has 5 different levels of flood plains, so depending on where you are, you may not be able to get a permit for an addition of a certain square footage, or you may be in an area that does not issue habitable building permits |
